Do you have trouble falling asleep at night, or staying asleep even after you drift off? You’re not the only one – up to half of all adults have a hard time catching all the z’s they need. And now even more of us are experiencing disturbed sleep.
But we’re here to help.
We formulated a sleepy essential oil blend to help calm and ground you, while clearing the air. By the way, it’s also a great blend for jet lag! Flying aggravates the vata (wind) in the body, so aromatherapy that grounds you counteracts that.
If you’re not big on diffusing, that’s okay. You can also add a few drops of these blends to soft cloth for an equally satisfying aromatherapy experience. Another alternative is to use a drop or two and rub the oil into your feet.
Below I also offer a guided meditation. If you’ve never tried meditation before or feel intimidated by it, don’t worry. You don’t need any special equipment, and you can try it anywhere, anytime. All you have to do is listen.
Wishing you a deep peace during these challenging days.
the oil of self-acceptance
Bergamot has a calming and soothing aroma. Diffuse bergamot to relieve feelings of despair, hopelessness, unlovable, and self-judgment. The aroma can open up limiting beliefs and unlock stagnant, murky feelings. This essential oil boosts optimism, hope, esteem, and self-acceptance.
the oil of motion and flow
Cypress can help when we feel fearful, over-controlling or perfectionism. When we are kept up at night, our fears and worries can ruminate. We can also feel frustrated we can’t control our sleep and get the perfect night of rest. Cypress promotes a sense of more trust, more flexibility, and more flow.
the oil of physicality
Patchouli helps with feelings of judgement such as, “WHY am I not sleeping?” or “It sucks that I can’t sleep!” Patchouli can also relieve body tension. The aroma promotes feelings of balance and grounded-ness. And it helps us to relax so that we can accept our insomnia and our body’s resistance to falling asleep!
