Imagine exploring some of the most stunning destinations on Earth, all from the comfort and luxury of your own private vessel. Discovering the world by yacht opens up a realm of possibilities — from secluded beaches and hidden coves to vibrant coastal cities. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a blend of both, setting sail on a yacht allows you to experience the world like never before, with the freedom to chart your own course.
Why I love them? Yachts are like floating villas — and they’re addictive.
Once you sail on a yacht charter, you’ll want to do it again and return for more. Luxury yachts offer an exceptional level of service with a team of highly trained professionals dedicated to ensuring an unforgettable experience for the most discerning guests. From expertly prepared meals to personalized excursions, the yacht staff is committed to delivering impeccable service throughout your charter.
Yachts will take you to multiple places on your timetable with your bespoke itinerary, which we will advise you on. The best part is that you’ll see amazing and unique spots and only unpack once. We will consider your favorite past-times, meals and snacks, and interests in history, destinations, and pacing.
There is also no better way to build bonds and connections with private dinner parties, exclusive excursions, and lazy lunches poolside in unique seaside havens with great water toys at your disposal.
The magic number is 12 people. Above that, you’re in the world of mega yachts, which are rare; there are only about ten available for charter in the world. And they have rules that apply to larger ships that, for some, hamper the experience.
And of course, you’ll be able to meet with the captain and crew ahead of time over Zoom to make sure they’re a good fit for your party or family, too. The crew’s service is as integral as the sea vessel to crafting an extraordinary adventure, so vetting and coordinating with them is essential to our planning services.
So gather a group of friends and sail off into the beautiful blue seas of Greece to see the great sites that tourists rarely visit.
We will guide you through the process with the help of our yacht broker to find the perfect ship. Then, in consultation with you, we’ll plan your itinerary, menu planning, and experience services with everything you desire, making your holiday a lifetime trip.
Discovering the World by Yacht: Aegean Sea versus Ionian Sea
Greece sits between the Aegean Sea on the east side, with Turkey on the other side. And the Ionian Sea is to the west, with Italy across the sea. Both seas are part of the Mediterranean Sea, yet they differ significantly.
The Aegean Sea is larger than the Ionian Sea, with an area of about 214,000 square kilometers, and is also deeper, with an average depth of 324 meters. The Ionian Sea, on the other hand, covers an area of about 35,000 square kilometers and has an average depth of 240 meters.
The Aegean Sea has a more arid climate, with hot, dry summers and mild winters, while the Ionian Sea has a more temperate climate, with mild, wet winters and hot, dry summers. As a result, the Aegean Sea offers a great diversity of marine life, including species such as dolphins, whales, and sea turtles.
The Aegean Sea is dotted with numerous islands, including some of the most famous Greek islands, such as Santorini, Mykonos, and Rhodes. Since the lower Cyclades are about an 8-hour sail from Athens, for clients who want to spend more time in Mykonos and Santorini, we suggest they fly to Mykonos to embark their yacht and disembark in Santorini (which is about 10 hours from Athens).
If yachting in late July and August, work with your yacht’s captain to devise a backup itinerary to pivot to if winds and seas are rough. Most Greek captains are very flexible as they are used to weather throwing things for a loop and usually can predict the weather a few days out.
The Ionian Sea is less touristy and ideal in late July and August. The waters don’t suffer from strong winds and bumpy seas, and you can visit stunning islands like Kalamata and Corfu.
