1 || The Mark

Nestled in Manhattan’s prestigious Upper East Side, The Mark Hotel epitomizes timeless luxury and sophistication. I used to stay here all the time when my dad had a stroke. It was my home away from home. The hotel is housed in a 1927 landmark building reimagined by legendary designer, Jacques Grange. The hotel combines old-world comfort and avant-garde design with unprecedented service. Rooms and suites are havens of understated opulence. The Mark is at the epicenter of Manhattan’s social and cultural riches, on one of the Upper East Side’s finest blocks, surrounded by museums, shops, restaurants, and Central Park. With a blooming flower cart, the Jean-Georges hot dog stand, a 70-foot sailboat, and complimentary bicycles and pedicab rides, The Mark extends beyond its iconic brick and mortar to provide immersive New York experiences.

2 || The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel has been a timeless classic since its debut in 1930. This quintessential New York hotel is as much a landmark for its distinguished guests and celebrated entertainers as it is for its refined style and old-world charm. Even the elevator buttons blush with pride! Princess Diana, Michael Jackson, and Steve Jobs once shared a ride, giving The Carlyle a touch of star-studded flair that money can’t buy. The hotel’s exquisite design seamlessly blends classic Art Deco elements with modern sophistication, creating an atmosphere of unparalleled charm and sophistication. Its lavish guest rooms and suites, adorned with exquisite furnishings and fine art, offer a sanctuary of comfort and serenity. Steps away from Central Park, The Carlyle offers its guests gracious and romantic dining in The Carlyle Restaurant, nightly jazz in Bemelmans Bar with its classic cocktails and whimsical murals by famed Madeline author Ludwig Bemelmans, and a true New York experience in the famed Cafe Carlyle where entertainer Bobby Short has performed for more than three decades.

3 || The Peninsula New York

Adorned with crystal chandeliers, Corinthian columns, and marble staircases, The Peninsula New York, located on the iconic Fifth Avenue, is as glamorous as they come. Residence-style rooms and suites feature art nouveau accents, Oscar de la Renta-designed bathroom amenities and panoramic views that will leave you breathless. You might also have one of the best sleeps of your life here as the hotel beds are COCO-MAT, which I have been lusting over a decade! Next best thing to sleep is of course food – here you can indulge in epicurean delights at Clement Restaurant, where culinary magic unfolds like a Broadway show, or sip cocktails at Salon de Ning, where the skyline becomes the backdrop for your glamorous adventures in the summertime and the perfect après-ski action during winter. If you need a break from the concrete jungle anytime of the year, immerse yourself in the tranquility of the spa or take a dip in the indoor pool – I spent a day at this spa and it was definitely one of the most luxurious days! And thanks to its idyllic address, Rockefeller Center, Broadway, and high-end boutiques are just outside your front door.

4 || The Equinox Hotel

Casa Cipriani is an enchanting haven of Italian elegance nestled in the heart of Manhattan’s Financial District. Inspired by the timeless charm of its Venetian roots, you will notice that every corner of Casa Cipriani exudes elegance and exclusivity, transporting you to a world of refined beauty and sophistication. 6 || The Baccarat Hotel

Combining the best of New York with splendid Parisian style, the Baccarat Hotel is located across from the Museum of Modern Art in the heart of Manhattan. Reflecting its namesake French crystal maker, this vision of modern elegance is inspired by more than two centuries of heritage and artisanship. From the spectacular prism-glass facade to the 17 custom Baccarat chandeliers adorning the public spaces, the hotel is a tribute to the art of living. French monarchs expected impeccable service. So do you—with a modern sensibility, of course. With just 114 chambres, the hotel offers an intimate and extravagant set of distinctive services and amenities. Baccarat Hotels and Resorts adheres to an unparalleled standard of excellence in service. The team of experienced, dedicated professionals are devoted to the craft of service and are committed to delivering a memorable stay. No request is too grand. From bookings and recommendations, to childcare, pet care, stylist services and beyond, you will experience service that is personalized, elegant, and of course, discreet.

7 || The Greenwich Hotel

As unassuming as its owner, Robert De Niro, The Greenwich Hotel provides a high-end pied-à-terre in the trendy Tribeca neighborhood. No two of its 88 rooms and suites – mixing Tibetan rugs, English settees, and Moroccan tiles with vintage books and flea market antiques – are alike. The design pays particular homage to fine craftsmanship, and much of the woodwork is reclaimed. The intimate, lantern-lit swimming pool (that by the way is the most beautiful swimming pool I have seen in NYC) is housed in a 250-year-old pine farmhouse transported from Kyoto. The amenities and services are as well considered as the design. Shibui spa features a shiatsu room; a traditional bathing room with a large tub for Japanese bathing rituals, a wet room for wraps and scrubs and finally a treatment room where massages as well as manicures, pedicures and facial treatments are offered.

8 || The Dominick

Uptown elegance meets downtown edge at The Dominick. Located where SoHo merges with the West Village and Tribeca, three of downtown’s most exciting neighborhoods, this 46-story hotel provides unparalleled views from floor-to-ceiling windows. Dark woods, rich leather, and marble adorn the 391 warm yet modern guest rooms. It gives an aesthetic nod to the clean yet natural lines of Mid-Century Modernism, making for a truly welcoming gathering place. The Vestry, the hotel’s new signature restaurant, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Shaun Hergatt, features shareable, seasonal dishes infused with global techniques and ingredients. For wellness-focused travelers, The Dominick is home to North America’s only BABOR Signature Spa, which features relaxation lounges, salt inhalation chambers, hammam treatments, steam and sauna.
